The staff at ForeverSkim was incredibly honored when Victoria offered up the idea of passing the veritable torch to us.  The task, however, could and should be considered daunting.  With the strong desire to live up to and perhaps even exceed the first ever skimboarder poll, we set out to continue the legacy and improve upon the idea wherever possible. 

We started by learning from one of the best sources possible: Surfer Magazine.  We spent months with the staff at Action Sports Group, decoding their process, setting up the 2007 Surfer Poll website and even attending the 35^th anniversary award show. 

Smaller in scale but no less important, the 2007 FSM Skimboarder Poll Awards strives to bring the same authenticity, respect and tradition to skimboarding that Surfer has so successfully contributed to surfing.  The staff at ForeverSkim, along with the assistance of several people in the world of inland skimboarding and a few international, influential skimboarders, nominated the various contenders for each category.  The result is a list that is all-encompassing, entirely unbiased and completely credible. 

So take some time and browse through the photo and video pages, and then get involved and vote.  After all, this is your sport.  You decide.
